CLAi's Red on the Road on location mobile production and post-production unit, allows clients to save time and money by shooting and editing on one versatile mobile space. Big Red is a fairly serious vehicle to move around, and so we always will provide a driver/technician, and usually a second crew person to help look after the equipment on board, usually in the DIT or editor role. We can also crew for a full shoot, and the same goes for post. Big Red with an edit or DIT system and one person crew runs $1750 for RV with gear and $600 for crew on a 10-hour day, with mileage at $1 a mile plus gas used - add on $750 a day for our RED One Digital camera system or $950 a day for our HDW-F900 camera system. Edit decks, a 2nd edit system, extra equipment and crew on board for editing or for shooting are budgeted against an agreed specification. But do build in the huge cost savings in production time, re-shoots and post "fixes" you can make using Big Red!
